Han Yuchen's oil painting Watching was selected into the "Chinese Implications - International Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting Art" and was selected as the cover of the 8th special issue of 2015 by Arts magazine. The work depicts a Tibetan woman leaning against a wooden door to wait for her family to come back from herding with her eyes in anticipation when the twilight fading away. The painting focuses on the rich and subtle changes in light and shadow, as well as the woman's dedicated concentration. The picture has unified tones, just like a poem.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Han Yuchen practiced painting since his childhood. He liked calligraphy and painting and successively studied from Li Hua, Su Gaoli, Liang Yulong of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the famous painter Zhang Wensin. He has a special liking for the great beauty of Tibet. He was not afraid of difficulties and went to Tibet for dozens of times: resided in tent and Tibetans house, went through snow mountains and glaciers, took nearly 10,000 photos, drew over 100 paintings and created hundreds of poems. His works present vividly the simple and perseverant spirit of the people in the plateau. These works were selected into the "Twelfth National Art Exhibition", the "Looking Back Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting for One Hundred Years" and the "Innovative South China, Fertile Southwest, Rich Central Plains---Oil Painting Invitation Exhibition for National lands and people".
Han Yuchen is also a propaganda ambassador for Tibet. Since 2013, he has also held oil painting exhibitions in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Russia. His oil painting Shepherdess was awarded the Gold Medal of "152th French National Salon", the Road of Worship won the bronze medal of "225th French Artists Salon Exhibition". A number of his works were collected by politicians and art institutions such as French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
During December 9, 2017 to January 4, 2018, jointly organized by the Chinese Art Academy, the National Museum of China and the Hebei Provincial Federation of Literature and Art, with the Painting and Oil Painting Institute of Chinese National Academy served as the academic support, "Oil Painting Exhibition of Han Yuchen and Western Works " was successfully held at the National Museum of China. At its opening ceremony, Lu Zhangshen, the director of the National Museum of China, presented two collection certificates of paintings The Power of Faith and Deep Mountain.to Han Yuchen. After visiting the exhibition, Wu Weishan, the director of the National Art Museum of China, enthusiastically praised Han Yuchen’s firm cultural self-confidence, his description to the snowy plateau and his contribution to the promotion of cultural exchanges. Wu also invited Han to hold an exhibition in the National Art Museum of China. The collection of Han Yuchen's oil painting Watching by the National Art Museum of China is the best affirmation of his artistic achievements.
