Wu Weishan, curator of National Art Museum of China visited the oil painting exhibition of Han Yuchen and the West

  After the opening of “Oil painting exhibition of Han Yuchen and the West” in the National Museum of China, the audiences visited and followed the rave reviews. Director of the Chinese Academy of Arts Lian Ji, secretary of the party branch of the Chinese Artists Association Xu Li, president of Oil Painting Institute of National Academy Zhan Jianjun, professor of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts Su Gaoli, editor-in-chief of Fine Art magazine Shang Hui and many other art masters visited this exhibition; on December 10, it ushered in the curator of Chinese Art Museum and the vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, Wu Weishan.
 

  Wu Weishan and Han Yuchen are old acquaintances. When Wu Weishan, wearing a suit and trademark shoulder-length hair, walked to the exhibition hall, they two exchanged their greetings and embraced each other warmly. Then, Wu Weishan, led by Han Yuchen, stepping into the exhibition hall of the north 2, which contains 47 paintings of Han Yuchen taking with theme of Tibet .
 

  As a curator of the National Art Museum of China, Wu Weishan is a sculptor, but also has a unique eye for oil painting. He looked and talked with Han Yuchen, and spoke highly of his objective reproduction of the Tibetan nationality, the vivid portrayal of characters, and the accurate control of the shape and color. Stepping to the large-scaled product Shepherdess, before Han’ s introduction, Wu said with a smile, "This must be the work that won the Gold Medal of the French National Salon." When he saw such works as Brother and Sister, Watching, Playing Aga, Wu praised, "These pictures are so unique and expressive.", and then taking photos with his phone.
 

  Part of these productions in the exhibition hall are Han Yuchen's sketches in early stage, as well as the painting sketches made during last two years in south of Gansu Province. Wu was extremely pleasant surprise when he discovered Han’s six Tibetan models also appeared on the scene, said with a Nanjing accent: “Oh! They all come. Invite the model to the exhibition site and allow the audience simultaneously see the works and the prototype of the creation. This is an innovation and breakthrough in the form of exhibition. Man, you painted so vividly!”
 

  North 3 exhibition hall displays Han Yuchen's collection of 88 Western paintings. The top grade works like Looking Up by Miller, Normandy's Pond by Corot and Shyness of the Puppet by Xu Beihong’s teacher Arthur kampf are all infected with Wu, he admired and praised: "These collections are too precious! Han, your drawing of such good works is inseparable with the daily monasteries of these top grade works!" When he saw the portrait of Lautrec in Bizarre Transform, Wu laughed happily: "This exactly is Lautrec, the Post-Impressionist who paints the Moulin Rouge."
 

  Before his leaving, Wu grasped Han’s hands and said: "Your paintings and collections are very brilliant. You should go to the National Art Museum of China to display them, and I will come again."
