An Unprecedentedly Grand Exhibition of HanYuchen’s Oil Paintings and Western Oil Paintings, Exhibition Master Gathered to Catch All the Audience’s Eyes

  At 10:00 AM of Dec. 9, a grand exhibition related to Han Yuchen’s oil paintings and western oil paintings held in central hall of National Museum of China formally started.
 

  The EXPO was cosponsored by Chinese National Academy of Arts, National Museum of China and Hebei Province Federation of Literary And Art Circles. In this EXPO, Oil Painting School of Chinese National Academy of Painting acted as academy support, Shao Dazhen, the professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, was in charge of curation, and Xie Xiaoquan, the associate director of National Museum of China, presided over the opening ceremony. In the opening ceremony, Mr. Han Yuchen’s estromimetic speech won a lot of applause of the guests. Finally, Lv Zhangshen, director of National Museum of China, awarded him the certificate of honor certified that his oil paintings The Power of Faith and Deep Mountain were collected by National Museum of China. Experts and scholars from culture and art circle, and around 2000 guests of business circles and news media witnessed the grand occasion. The authority medias including People's Daily, the Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Guangming Daily, Sina, Netease, Ifeng, etc. came to the field one after another to conduct the face-to-face interview to Mr. Han Yuchen. After the opening ceremony of the EXPO, audience came to the field one after another, taking a lot of praises to bring about warmth for this cold winter.

  Since his childhood, Han Yuchen was trained, he was fond of calligraphy and painting, and learned from Li Yue, Su Gaoli, Liang Yulong and famous painter Zhang Wenxin from Central Academy of Fine Arts successively. While he has been focusing on the great beauty and purity of Tibet with great passion, and he ever went to Tibet to collect beauty and paint from nature, entering tent, living with Tibetan family, climbing snow mountain and wading ice river, and he created more than one hundred of oil paintings which vividly and truly reflect a new Tibet that is changing quickly. These oil paintings frequently won awards, and ever included into such important exhibitions as “The 12th National Artistic Exhibition”, “Retrospective Exhibition of One-hundred-year Chinese Oil Paintings”, etc.. Additionally, his oil paintings won the laurel from European itinerant exhibition started from 2013, the oil painting Shepherdess was awarded golden prize of “The 152nd French National Art Salon Exhibition”, and On the Road of Worship was awarded the copper prize of “The 225th French National Art Salon Exhibition”.

  In this exhibition, Han Yuchen’s works won general consent and highly good reputation from personnel in the industry. Masters gathered in this opening ceremony, and well-known personnel and artists came to the field to enjoy the exhibition in the endless stream, they all expressed their comprehension for paintings and their wishes for painters.
 

  Lian Ji, the dean of Chinese National Academy of Arts said in his address:”The reason why Chinese National Academy of Arts sponsored the exhibition for Han Yuchen is his several decades of spiritual pursuit with perseverance, even his holding art at the cost of his life, his pioneering work of greatly building art museum, as well as his contribution to flourishing literature and art by collecting western classic oil paintings. In this exhibition, Chinese National Academy of Arts specially provided two halls for simultaneously exhibiting Han Yuchen’s oil paintings related to Tibet and his collections associated with western oil paintings, so that audience can perceive Chinese painters’ artistic pursuit and language styles by comparing and understanding historic inheritance of oil paintings”.

  Xu Li, secretary of branch Party group of Chinese Artists Association and the vice chairman staying in the Association, praised that realism creation direction Han Yuchen stuck to for several decades are very recommendable, and spoken highly of his artistic tenet of “going deep into grass roots and root into people”. He said:”this practice ‘without fear of hardness and risk, without pursuit of fame and return’ with great efforts is quite recommendable in the current society.”
 

  Xie Xiaoyong, secretary of the Party group of Hebei Province Federation of Literary And Art Circles, passionately praised actions of Han Yuchen who created art museum opening for public for free and actively collected western classic oil paintings. In his eyes, Han Yuchen is an influential, ambitious and contributive artist. “He devoted himself to studying and investigating oriental and western culture for many years, and he has obtained extraordinary achievements in the fields of calligraphy, painting, photography, etc.. As the president of Handan Sunshine Group, he pay great attention to public cultural undertakings, he established 6300m2 art museum, and he has held several hundreds of public educational activities, showing sufficient positive energy for us.” Xie Xiaoyong said.
 


 

  Zhan Jianjun, dean of Oil Painting School of Chinese National Academy of Painting, fully confirmed Han Yuchen’s works in aspects of ontology language, expression technique, etc. of oil paintings. “Mr. Han Yuchen had dream of becoming oil painter since he was young, he should have had opportunity of going to school of fine arts for learning, but he failed to be admitted due to special historical period. However, his works show high professional level in aspects of skills and emotion, expressing tranquil social life of Tibet and splendid natural landscape of snow-covered plateau breathtakingly, and formed his unique artistic style.” he said.
 


 

  Shu Gaoli, the first oil-painting teacher of Han Yuchen, a professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, introduced Han’s rough experiences of forty-five years of painstaking study of painting. “Han Yuchen is my student, an unnoticed talent. In 1976, I came to Hebei for students admissions on behave of Central Academy of Fine Arts, he was admitted with excellent marks but finally failed to enter the academy for various reasons. With such strange combination of circumstances, he became an entrepreneur. However gold will shine, now he has accomplished his Tibetan artwork which is difficult for general artists to finish. These paintings are not only full in composition, bright in color, deep in artistic conception, and full of emotion, they also reflect ideologically a new Tibet that keeps pace with the times.
 

  The president and chief editor of Art Periodical Office, Shang Hui, either visited National Museum of China and gave high praise to the exhibition. He said: “Han Yuchen was frequently selected to join some important academic exhibitions both at home and abroad and won awards by his oil-painting manifesting plateau people under sunshine, which is glorious and arduous for an artist not from academy. For this age, art is not short of skills but short of the spirit and inspiration of the nature of art. Han Yuchen has a pious devotion to art and he would like putting his eyes back on real life especially on the pureness and nature of that snow-covered plateau, so as to waken the beauty and simplicity that is shorten in modern urbanization life.”
 

  Wu Weishan, director of National Art Museum of China, vice president of Chinese Artists Association, also appeared on the exhibition, and saw the prototype of Han Yuchen's theme painting in Tibet while making cordial communication with the Tibetan Youth. He praised and said: “Bringing model in the painting to site to present audiences not only the artworks but also the prototype of the works is an innovation and breakthrough that gives audiences 120% of pleasant surprise.”
 

  Fan Di’an, dean of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of Chinese Artists Association; Shao Dazhen, professor of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, the planner of this exhibition; Zhong Han, professor of China Central Academy of Fine Arts; Zhang Zuying, deputy director of the Oil Painting School of the National Academy of Painting; Xu Qingfeng, deputy director of Oil Painting and Art Committee of Chinese Artists Association and Qi Haifeng, president of Hebei Provincial Art Association, respectively admired and affirmed Han Yuchen’s oil-painting with Tibet theme in respect of aesthetic expression, historical inheritance and aesthetic value.
 

  Snow-covered plateau possesses unique myth and wideness, and Fontainebleau contains feelings and stories of long standing. While Han Yuchen, as a unique artist, solidified the humanistic thought into his creations with brush, and showed the classics and inheritance of Barbizon School which he collected to Chinese. The works of this exhibition contain 47 Han Yuchen’s oil paintings related to Tibet, including shepherdess, scenes of life, religious culture, figures, etc., as well as the line drawing and oil painting from nature which he created in his early years. Additionally the exhibition contains 88 western oil paintings he collected, including Seven Star of French Barbizon, one hundred years of change related to French landscape painting, from classicism to realism, other countries’ styles and features in the same period, nature of Russian oil paintings, etc..
