Mr. Han Yuchen is one of those artists who have been there numerous times. He enjoys Nature's immense charms, experiences Tibetan inhabitants 'simple life, and has created multifarious paintings and photographic works. In his photos, the snow-capped mountains, grasslands, azure sky and lakes present extensively gorgeous visual pictures like magnificent symphonic movements. He has travelled to many places around the world. but the snow-clad Tibetan plateau remains his favorite destination. He has taken a variety of photographs of snowy highland from unique angles of view, based on his yearning for immaculate and sacred realm that always leads him to immerse himself in a quiet conversation with Nature and feel its eternity. That is why he can always capture vast and solemn life existence, and endows his pictures with extensive realm of vision, while handling each detail attentively as if he is using a language spoken by a camera's full-length lens. Audiences, when viewing his works, can breathe in a fresh air from the transparent space on his pictures.
According to traditional Chinese aesthetic ideology, sophisticated artworks should cove Large and broad realm while presenting small details as exquisitely as possible, meaning that artworks should reflect infinite universe while attending to tiny minutiae existing in the world. Han Yucheng has the ability to appropriately deal with both "large" and "small" things in his works and form his own "narration with lens." One of the typical forms of traditional Chinese painting is to horizontally extend picture scrolls to contain more broad views. Han Yuchen has made full use of this form in his photography, To reinforce the strong effect of this form, he has been sparing no effort to study splicing skill. With this Oriental artistic concept and traditional Chinese artistic techniques mingled into contemporary photography,Han Yuchen has developed his personal photographic language.
Han Yuchen is also a painter. Different from his landscape photographic works, his paintings highlight figures. Having witnessed the everlasting conventional customs and fast-changing life in the Tibetan areas, he has been endeavoring to reflect such eternal and genuine daily life in his works that reveal spiritual outlook of today's Tibetan people with enriched colors and Lifelike images. His works give an authentic expression of a true Tibetan life that enable those who are not familiar with the land to know a real Tibet, and understand Han Yuchen's devotion to this land as well. Han Yuchen prefers a simple and unsophisticated style in his works which are brimming over with a natural and lively aura. Figures in most of his paintings and photos are in states of doing productive labor in the fields or on the meadows, or practicing religious rituals or routine, or celebrating a festival. With these in-depth descriptions of his characters, he is vividly telling stories of them, and recording their life and destinies. He has a particular sensation for the life under the sunshine that all the figures and scenery under the sun in his pictures look so lucid and eye-catching, and all the energetic and steady strokes reveal his dedication and confidence. Han Yuchen once said that what touches him on this magic snow plateau is its virginity, or, its infinite purity. and his photographs and paintings are shining with such purified beautifulness.
