Mr. Jin Shangyi Expressed His Appreciation for the Exhibition of Han Yu-chen in National Museum of China

  On December 14, 2017, on the 6th day after the opening of “Oil painting exhibition of Han Yuchen and the West” in the National Museum of China, Jin Shangyi, standing member of the CPPCC National Committee and honorary chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, came to visit the exhibition.
 

  Han Yuchen passionately holding Mr. Jin's arm, stepped together into the North Hall 2, where displayed his 47 paintings of the Tibet theme, and passionately explained each creative process for Mr. Jin, who was appreciating these works while his watching. The work Ma Qu Suo Lang portrays a full-length portrait of a Tibetan woman standing on the grassland. Mr. Jin commented it: "This portrait is full of characters, with accurate facial expressions and bold brushstrokes. It is a masterpiece." In the Ni Ma, Han Yuchen used the subtle treatment of backlight to the facial features; Mr. Jin also praised it and thought that it is a typical expression of realism. Seeing the accurate lighting and color processing of the image Brother and Sister, Mr. Jin said happily: "This painting is not only characterized by the sunshine of Tibet, but also portrayed vividly."
 

  Stopped in front of Han Yuchen's early sketch Granny and oil painting sketches such as Taihang Farmer and Scenery of Zhangjiajie and other works, Mr. Jin said: "These works show that Han Yuchen had done a great job in his youth and this is also the best witnessing of his artistic maturity." When he saw Han’s models from south of Gansu during the past two years, Mr. Jin showed his surprise and said with a smile:" You brought them here. This should be a breakthrough in the form of exhibition."
 

  Moving to the North Hall 3, Mr. Jin closely enjoyed the 88 Western paintings of Han Yuchen's collection, and exchanged opinions with Han Yuchen. As an art master, Mr. Jin explained the professional art knowledge to visitors while his appreciating. His brilliant and monologue points of view triggered bursts of applause.
 

  He complimented the paintings by France Barbizon, such as Normandy's Pond by Corot, Looking Up by Miller, and the Shyness of the Puppet by Cambodian Cheboksian, and Boudoir spring and Paris Boulevard. Seeing L'Ermitage's Laundry Lady of the Seychelles, he recalled with great emotion the touching scene of viewing his Harvest Revenues at the China National Art Museum in the 1980s. The Start Revolution, Stalin and other works of Russian artists attracted Jin Shangyi stopping to appreciate them. When he evaluated Highland Spring Water, Mr. Jin believed that the rich color performance of the works deserved to be borrowed by every art enthusiasts.
 

  Time passed quickly and an hour passed unknowingly. Approaching to say goodbye, when a reporter asked about the overall impression of Han Yuchen's Tibetan paintings, Jin Shangyi said: "I saw these paintings in Handan in September, but they impressed me deeper than before. Han Yuchen has never been to an Academy of Fine Arts, but he painstakingly trying to become a self-taught artist, and after decades, he became a very accomplished artist. His works reflected the true life of Tibet from many angles, and comparing to other painters of Tibetan themes, his content is richer and his expression is deeper, which is really not easy."
 

  The artistic charm is long lasting. "Oil Painting Exhibition of Han Yuchen and the West" attracted many famous audiences to visit, allowing the viewers feel the art of spiritual warmth and distillation in the winter of Beijing.
